September 11, 2010 Cinnamon rolls for the purple and gold
It feels like only yesterday when last year’s football season ended, and yet here I am, smack dab in the middle of Husky Football Madness, with a big dash of Seahawks Football Madness, an affliction that strikes many of my close friends and family come September. Me, I’m no football fan; but for the next 5 months I’ll be experiencing it through sheer osmosis.
Today was our first home game, and Seattle was awash in purple and gold and full of Husky Pride. I showed up at a friend’s viewing party during the last quarter bearing a big plate of yeasty, sweet cinnamon rolls. It was my way, however small, of cheering on the Huskies, and I think it must have helped because we gave Syracuse a sound beating.
